Bad Family (Finnish: Paha perhe) is a 2010 Finnish drama/black comedy film written and directed by Aleksi Salmenperä, produced by Aki Kaurismäki and line produced by Hanna Hemilä. International premier in the 60th Berlin International Film Festival/Panorama.
Following a messy divorce, the father (Ville Virtanen) has been single-handedly bringing up his son (Lauri Tilkanen) while the mother has custody of their daughter (Pihla Viitala). When, sixteen years later, the mother dies, brother and sister meet again. The brother’s crush on his new-found sister has disastrous consequence, propelling the father into a situation he cannot cope with.
